Three Things Thursday...

Some days are all about randomness, so I thought I would do a post that was a little random. So here goes...

  • I never talked about running in April. I logged 91 miles in April. Again, I missed the 100 mile mark, but you know, I'm okay with that. I had some really good days, and I also had some not so great days, including the Memorial half marathon. I am resolved to work on getting stronger mentally, and it's not going to be easy. I guess if it was easy then everyone would be doing it.
  • I have been reading non-stop lately. Much to Josh's dismay my Nook library continues to grow. Right now I am reading a book called Fly Away by Kristin Hannah. This is a sequel to another book Firefly Lane that I read last summer. This book is a life after death story. It sucked me in and now I can hardly put it down. Those are my favorite kinds of books. Recently I also read Mirror Image, although the 1980s technology got a little annoying, and A Week in Winter.
  • I recently discovered Mr. Selfridge on PBS. I love Jeremy Piven, and I have missed him since Entourage went off the air, and while his Mr. Selfridge is not anything like Ari Gold but this character is no less entertaining.

So there's a little bit of randomness. My ankle seems much better today. I wore my Pro Compression marathon socks to work today so there was much less swelling. I went to yoga tonight, but I still have no plans to run until Saturday. I think we really needed a few days off, aside from my sprained ankle I really haven't had much of a break since I started coming back from my stress fracture almost a year ago.

I'm not sure what my next goal will be, but I will be ready to get working towards it once I figure it out.

New Show Sunday and Wine Tasting...

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, but there was no green beer or even green clothes. There was a new show.

I had wanted to watch The Americans for a while, but I had never gotten the chance to. Sunday we finally got around to it.
As I have said before, I am a sucker for a new tv show, especially when new episodes of my regular shows slows down. I was a big fan of Brothers & Sisters and I love that Matthew Rhys is playing such a differnt character on this show. We have watched the first three episodes so far and I am really enjoying it.

I meet Rochelle and some other members of her mom'sclub at Blu for their wine tasting in th afternoon. We had done their wine tasting once last fall, and I was excited to go back a second time. The fact that I was off today helped. We drank wine and visited and took pictures.
I wasn't the only one that didn't show up in green, Anne didn't have any green on either.
Can you tell I got ready in about 15 minutes? Maybe I should watch less television and pay closer attention to when I am supposed to be somewhere. It's funny how you show up and meet someone that graduated the same year as you from your high school's biggest rival, and they know people that you know. Yeah, yeah, it is a small world.

I am sad my four day weekend is coming to an end. I don't want to go back to the real world.

I Am Completely Addicted...

My name is Becky and I am a television junkie. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? It seems like most of the television shows I like end up being cancelled. Seems its not just me.

This weekend Josh and I discovered a new show.

Have you seen this show? It is amazing.

It seems like every episode has a new surprise. We had a marathon viewing session on Sunday. The girls watched a little bit but lost interest, Josh and I are addicted.

Here are a few of the highlights so far:

  • When Rick runs into Glenn the first time and Glenn says "Not dead!"
  • Sophia is a walker.
  • Amy gets attacked.
  • Rick wakes up in the hospital.
  • Glenn gets lowered into the well.
I like that its not all at night, makes it less scary for me. I will admit to being a little weirded out when I backed out of the garage at 5 am yesterday morning. I will admit to being a little afraid of the dark.

It's nice to be fan of a show in its third season, less likely to be cancelled. If you aren't watching, you should be. You won't regret it.

Crazy Television

So last night, I was too exhausted to commit myself to any of my favorite Sunday night shows. Thank god for my DVR, I can watch everything when I am less tired!

I was flipping around and came upon a show on TLC, something about "I didn't know I was pregnant!" I was instantly sucked in to this show. It was very entertaining with the high drama re-enactments. It did get me thinking though, how in the heck would you not know you were pregnant? It is completely mind boggling to me.

When I think about my own pregnancy, and the 36 weeks of nausea and throwing up, the laying on my left side, the inability to drink water becasue it tasted like crap, the craving for Root Beer and the inevitable hiccups. How could someone not know they were pregnant?

How can you give birth to a child in the toilet at your work, or in a dirty camp ground bathroom? I just don't get it. All I can say is that it was amazing that all the children seemed to have turned out okay.

I might be more likely to have another baby, not that my two aren't more than enough for me, if I didn't have to feel like I was pregnant!
